Uniform

Early Years and Reception Uniform

At Oakhill Early Years, we believe that children learn and develop best when they feel safe, secure and comfortable. Therefore, we have a relaxed approach to uniform that allows children to move freely, climb and explore yet maintain a sense of belonging and community.

  • White Polo Shirt or Shirt
  • Black / Grey school trousers, shorts, skirts or jogging bottoms
  • Red jumper, cardigan or fleece
  • Black shoes or trainers
  • Red checked ‘summer’ dresses

Outdoors & Forest School

With our Forest School, Large Outdoor Learning and dedicated Early Years Forest Play areas, we activity encourage outside learning, every day and in all weathers. We have a limited amount of outdoor clothing for children to borrow, however, it is really helpful if children can have the following items in school, in a bag on their pegs during the appropriate seasons.

  • Puddle suit, warm waterproof coat
  • Wellies
  • Gloves and hats
  • Sunhat

During designated Forest school sessions, children are able to wear their own clothes suitable for the weather and season. More information about Forest School will be provided by your class teacher.

PE Kit

Children in Nursery and Reception will take part in more organised PE session. On their designated PE day, the children will need to come to school dressed for PE.

  • White t shirt
  • Black shorts or jogging bottoms
  • Trainers or pumps
  • Fleece or jumper for cold weathers

At Oakhill Early Years, we learn using all of our senses. We explore mud, water, messy play, paint and pens. We have some aprons and spare puddlesuits that we encourage children to use in order to protect their clothing and keep dry. Apologies in advance for any messy clothes that may make their way home!

Please ensure your child has a named bag on their peg with spare clothes in case of toileting accidents or messy play. Please label your child’s clothing, particularly jumpers.
