New Nursery at Oakhill Primary School from June 2021

Waiting List Now Open for 2, 3 and 4 year olds

We are delighted to let you know that there are major changes taking place at Oakhill Primary School from June 2021.  We will be welcoming pre-school children aged 2 and upwards to our new nursery provision, based in the school.

Children will be looked after in a bright, well-resourced environment with access to secure outside space and access to our fantastic Forest School.  A highly experienced Nursery Teacher will be in charge supported by experienced, qualified assistants.

We believe this will give the children a great start to their learning journey and that they will be better prepared for Reception.  There will be a smooth transition from Nursery to Reception meaning that the children will be

  • within the same surroundings;
  • working with the same staff;
  • familiar and accustomed to the daily routines;
  • a valued part of our school community;
  • leaving Nursery class with a solid foundation for Reception.

We are excited to welcome them to the Oakhill family and look forward to watching them flourish.

From September 2021, we will also be offering Wraparound Provision on the school site.  We will have the capacity for children to be on site from 7.30 am until 5.30 pm, looked after by experienced, qualified staff.  This provision is in the early stages of planning but we are eager to let you know now that this provision is coming.  This will enable parents – particularly working parents – to plan what provision is needed for your family.   We are still at the planning stage for fees and the fine details, but will let you know in the course of the Summer Term what the costs will be.

We would be pleased if you could tell your family, friends and neighbours of our exciting plans.  We can’t wait to get started and meet our pre-school children, particularly after the difficult year that everyone has had!  Our waiting list is open so please contact us on the number below - or by email -if you wish to place your child’s name on the list or to inform us of your interest in Wraparound Care.

We will be happy to answer any questions or comments at this stage.  Please contact us by calling 01827 213960 or by email office@oakhill.staffs.sch.uk

Welcome to Oakhill Primary School

Growing and Succeeding Together

We hope you find our new website both interesting and informative.  We are a Federated School, joined with Hanbury's Farm Primary School and serve the Belgrave and Glascote Heath areas of Tamworth in Staffordshire.

We nurture and encourage our children to explore, to invent and to create. By steering their natural curiosity we develop children to become confident, bold and prepared to be challenged. Our children learn about, and have confidence in, themselves as learners. They set themselves goals and have high aspirations for their future. We aspire to build individual learning powers and enjoy an ethos that builds high levels of self-esteem; instils a strong determination to succeed and promotes a thirst for life-long learning.

Our strengths are recognised throughout the community; and many parents enrol their children with us because of the school's good reputation.

I feel so passionate about Oakhill and our children that I could write forever about my school, but I doubt the web is big enough!  I hope that you find everything you need on this website, but if there are any further questions please contact us and come for a visit.

If there is anything you wish to know, please contact the school office on 01827 213960 and speak with Mrs Love or Mrs Timson on 01827 213965.
