Thank you for taking the time to find out more about our school for your child. Choosing a primary school can be daunting – you may feel a little overwhelmed with information and have lots of questions to ask. 

We are thrilled to announce that we will be running Reception Open Days for prospective families during Autumn Term 2023. We have always enjoyed and valued these sessions as they provide you with a real insight into life at Oakhill. Here you will have the opportunity to talk through the admissions process with the EYFS Team, ask questions and show you around the Reception Classroom environment.

What we offer...

Our Reception Classroom has been specially designed to offer challenging open ended activities and independent learning opportunites. It is a calm yet challenging environment with  open areas to play, explore and investigate.

We have access to sand, water and sensory play under our conservatory along with cosy reading area, creative zone and role play area inside. We value the use of IT and have iPads, Laptops and Netbooks that are used regularly with the children to support and enhance learning.

Reception have free flow use of the outdoor learning area where they can develop gross motor skills using with trikes and scooters and climbing frame. We enjoy exploring with natural materials, den building and mud kitchens and challenging ourselves on the adventure play area.

We also have an Forest School on site and sessions for Reception will run thoughtout the year with our trained Forest School leaders. Our Early Years Forest Play area can be accessed at any time during the school day to support learning outdoors.

Extended hours are available via out Squirrels Club Breakfast club catering for children from 8:00am.
