Welcome to Year 1 and 2 with Miss Greaves, Mrs McAllister, Mrs Stubbs and Mrs Cotter!

 

Below you will find some useful information about Year 1 & 2.

 

Your start time is 9:00am

Your finish time is 3:00pm

 

Your PE day is Wednesday. Please come to school wearing your kit.

Your kit should consist of a white t-shirt, black shorts or joggers and pumps or trainers. You can also wear a black hoodie or sweater to keep you warm outdoors.

 

On Monday's we have Forest School. Please bring the appropriate clothing (clothing you don't mind your child/children getting muddy in). We do provide children with an all in one suit to protect their clothing. Wellies are needed for Forest School.

 

 

 

 

 

We are still doing The Daily Mile. The aim of The Daily Mile is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of our pupils... and staff!

 

 

What will we be learning after half term?

 

English

The books we will be learning; Dinosaurs (non-fiction text) and Diary of a Wombat (fiction text).

 

Maths

We will be continuing to focus on 'addition' and 'subtraction'.

Our new unit in maths will be 'division', teaching the children skills needed to solve division number problems.

 

RE

Our topic for Summer 2 is 'What do Hindus Celebrate?'

 

PSHE

Changing Me. The aim of the unit is for children to understand how we all change as we grow.

 

PE

In PE, the skill we will be focusing on is coordination. By the end of the unit, children should be able to: 

  • select and link movements together to fit a theme
  • begin to compare movements and skills with others
