School Day

9am start, 3pm finish

But our school day is so much more than this...

The doors and gates open at 8.50am to allow the children a relaxed start to the day, allowing for friends to chat, reading folders and lunch boxes to be stored away, morning snacks to be ordered and the register to be taken.

Learning starts at 9am. The registers are closed at 9.20am. Any children arriving after this time have their morning session recorded as an unauthorised absence.

Morning break is 15 minutes from 10.30am to 10.45am. This gives children time to eat their snacks and time to go outside to play with their friends.

Lunch is 45 minutes from 12.15pm to 1pm. Reception children are seated at 12 noon, this enables them to be seated and have time to eat their lunch before the older more boisterous children arrive in the hall. The meal sittings are staggered and classes are rotated.

The school day finishes at 3pm and children are released to their nominated person. If the person collecting is not the person expected the pupil/pupils will be taken to the school office for the staff there to contact the parent/carer to obtain consent.

We have two assemblies each week. Monday afternoon is our whole school children’s assembly. We have a very close relationship with St.Peters Church, adjacent to school. Reverend Mike leads assemblies on a regular basis. We also have a Friday afternoons family assembly at 2.30pm. Parents are welcome to come and join in celebration of the children’s achievements.

We enjoy the support of several parents who volunteer in school supporting the children’s learning.  We welcome volunteers and are always looking for new people to come and join us.
